NMI has appointed the following approving authorities, certifying authorities, utility meter verifiers and verifying authorities to support the needs of the national measurement system. NATA accreditation is a prerequisite for appointment and is a legal requirement for utility meter verifiers. Whilst these authorities can issue regulation 13 certificates under national measurement legislation which have evidential status, under NATA rules measurement reports issued by these authorities are not acceptable for use in other NATA-accredited laboratories.
