Verifying fuel dispensers

This one-day course explains the test procedures required to verify fuel dispensers other than LPG dispensers (namely those which deliver petrol, diesel or kerosene). It is designed for inspectors and verifiers who are responsible for ensuring that fuel dispensers measure accurately and that they comply with their certificates of approval.

Objectives

The courses provide participants with the skills:

  • to understand the role of trade measurement within the national measurement system
  • to identify the major components of a fuel dispenser
  • to analyse the fuel dispenser's operating environment to determine how it could impact on its performance
  • to identify sources of any possible operational error
  • to verify a fuel dispenser in accordance with the test procedures and workplace health and safety guidelines

  • equipment required for testing a fuel dispenser
  • working safely with petroleum products
  • visual inspection
  • functional testing
  • performance testing

Fee
